Just Two Roommates Media Group began as a conversation between two friends who believed independent media could be both rigorous and alive — and that the internet deserved better than what it was getting.
In 2019, Simone Adeyemi and Marcus Delacroix were two roommates in a Brooklyn apartment arguing about the state of digital journalism. They agreed on the problem: media had become too fast, too shallow, too beholden to the platforms that distributed it. They disagreed on the solution.
Simone believed the answer was editorial depth — that if you gave readers something genuinely worth reading, they would find it. Marcus believed the answer was structural — that independent media needed a portfolio model to survive, spreading risk across verticals while maintaining a unified editorial identity.
They were both right. Just Two Roommates Media Group was built on that argument — and on the conviction that the best journalism doesn't choose between quality and sustainability. It demands both.
Just Two Roommates LLC founded in Wilton Manors, Florida with a vision for authentic LGBTQ+ digital media.
Launched The Pink Pulse at thepinkpulse.com. Reached initial LGBTQ+ communities across major US cities.
Expanded The Pink Pulse to 50+ cities across 4 continents with multilingual content in 7 languages.
The Pink Pulse reaches 107+ cities across 6 continents. Launched 9-language editorial engine.

Both properties operating on a shared publisher platform with unified dashboard, content engine, and ad ops.
"We exist to prove that independent media can be financially sustainable without being editorially compromised — that depth and independence are not luxuries, but the only viable long-term strategy for journalism that matters."
Every editorial decision begins with a single question: does this serve our readers? Not our advertisers, not our traffic metrics, not the algorithm. Our readers.
We are not optimizing for this quarter's numbers. We are building a media institution that will still be publishing important journalism in 2050 — and beyond.
The most important stories are often the ones that don't fit neatly into existing categories. We built a portfolio of properties specifically to make room for those stories.
These are not aspirational statements. They are the operating principles that govern every editorial decision we make.
We answer to our readers, not to advertisers or algorithms. Every story we publish is chosen because it matters — not because it performs.
We believe the best journalism starts with genuine wonder. We ask the questions others overlook and follow them wherever they lead — across borders, disciplines, and conventions.
The world is not monolithic, and neither is our newsroom. We actively seek perspectives that challenge the dominant narrative and amplify the voices that mainstream media ignores.
In an era of hot takes and breaking-news churn, we choose depth. We take the time to get it right — to report fully, write carefully, and think clearly before we publish.
We hold culture to the same standard we hold power. Art, media, and entertainment shape how we see ourselves — and we take that responsibility seriously.
Trust is not given — it is earned, story by story, correction by correction. We are transparent about our methods, honest about our limitations, and accountable to the people we serve.
A team of journalists, editors, and builders who left comfortable positions to build something that didn't exist yet.
